Taliban denies killing of Mutawakil

KABUL: Taliban on Sunday denied the killing of pro-Islamic State- Khorasan (IS-K) cleric Mawlawi Mutawakil.

In a tweet, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has said that the killing of Mawlawi Mutawakil, a religious scholar in Kabul, has nothing to do with the Islamic Emirate.

“He was abducted a few days ago, and his body was found today. The intelligence of the Islamic Emirate is looking for the perpetrators. Evil circles do such things for the sake of divisiveness, he added.

Earlier, it was reported that the Taliban has executed pro Islamic State- Khorasan (IS-K) cleric Mawlawi Mutawakil.

According to the details, the Taliban arrested a religious cleric in Kabul a few days ago. On Sunday, the Taliban reportedly killed him.
