Saudi FM meets UAE counterpart on OIC sidelines

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian in Islamabad on Sunday.

According to the details, the meeting was held on the sidelines of an extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed this development.

During a press conference in Tehran, Saeed Khatibzadeh said that further talks with Saudi Arabia depend on Riyadh’s “seriousness”.

“We invite Riyadh [to take] a diplomatic and political approach and respect the principle of non-interference in other countries, which is the only way forward for the region,” Khatibzadeh said.
