Israeli security agencies released the details that prisoners escaped at night from Gilboa Prison in the Bisan area – northern Israel.

On Monday, the Israeli army announced that it had expanded its search for 6 Palestinian prisoners who escaped from the high-security Gilboa prison last night.

The Israeli army said that its forces are supporting the Internal Security Agency, the “Shin Bet”, the police, and the Prison Authority in the search operation.

Several air units were also allocated for reconnaissance work, and moreover, forces deployed in the occupied West Bank are also participating in the search operations.

Sniffer dogs have been deployed in the search and checkpoints were set up around Gilboa.

Palestinians consider prisoners held by Israel to be heroes of their national cause, and many celebrated the escape on social media.
